The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) welcomed a delegation from the Graduate School of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) on Tuesday (5/5) in the Leadership Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the UGM Graduate School building. The in-person meeting, held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. WIB, served as a forum for discussion and exchange of experiences related to the management of graduate programs.
The delegation from the IPB Graduate School was led by the Dean, accompanied by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni, along with supporting staff members. Meanwhile, representatives from SPs UGM included the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation, the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, the Coordinator of the Cooperation, Public Relations, and Promotion Unit, as well as supporting staff.
Both institutions, in a warm and constructive discussion atmosphere, explored various aspects of graduate education governance, ranging from academic systems, student affairs management, and partnership development to financial governance and human resource management. The meeting provided a platform to share best practices in the development of higher education institutions, particularly at the postgraduate level.
The meeting, in addition to the discussion on academic and managerial governance, also opened opportunities for the development of inter-institutional collaboration in education and scientific publication. One form of cooperation discussed was the possibility of implementing cross-publication initiatives of the academic communities of both institutions. This scheme is expected to encourage greater scientific publication productivity and strengthen the contribution of higher education institutions in supporting the implementation of the tridharma of higher education, namely in the areas of education, research, and community service.
Inter-institutional collaboration is viewed as a strategic step in expanding academic networks while also improving the quality of research outputs and scientific publications. Through this synergy, SPs UGM and the IPB Graduate School are expected to mutually support institutional capacity development and strengthen the role of higher education institutions in addressing global challenges through innovation and the advancement of knowledge.
This activity also reflected the commitment of both institutions to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals, through strengthened academic collaboration, improved higher education quality, and the development of joint research initiatives.
