Tokyo, July 27th 2026 — Silfani, a student of the Disaster Management Master’s Program at the Graduate School (SPs), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), participated as a presenter at the 11th International Conference on Water Pollution and Treatment (ICWPT 2026), held from July 25th – 27th 2026, at the Shibaura Institute of Technology, Toyosu Campus, Tokyo, Japan.
ICWPT 2026 served as an international forum brought together academics, researchers, and practitioners from various countries to share knowledge, research findings, and ideas related to water pollution, management, and resource protection. The conference also provided a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration in addressing various challenges related to water resource management and environmental change.
Silfani, at the conference, presented a research paper entitled “Flood Resilience and Water Resources Management: Assessing Community Preparedness in Paju Village, Indonesia.” The research was part of the field study program of the UGM Disaster Management Master Program, conducted at Paju Village, Ponorogo Regency, East Java, in October 2025.
The conference featured an opening speech, presentations by three keynote speakers and two invited speakers, oral and poster presentations, as well as scientific discussions attended by more than 60 participants from various countries. Silfani’s participation created an opportunity to disseminate her research findings to the international academic community, gain new insights and perspectives, and expand academic networks and opportunities for cross-border collaboration.
The participation of UGM Graduate School students in this international forum also contributed in strengthening academic capacity and scholarly contributions in supporting water resource management, enhancing community resilience to disasters, and promoting sustainable development.
