Yogyakarta, April 10th 2026 — The atmosphere at the Military Resort Command (Korem) 072/Pamungkas area felt different. Amid the “Friday Wellness” activity attended by various elements, a figure was present who leads in the field and also brings a strong academic perspective in every step. He is Brigadier General (Brigjen) Yuniar Dwi Hantono, S.Sos., M.Si., M.Sc., Commander of Korem 072/Pamungkas Yogyakarta and an alumnus of the National Resilience Master Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

Brigjen Yuniar stated education is not a phase to pass through, but a foundation of thinking that continues to live in every decision-making process. His experience studying in the National Resilience Master Program at UGM shaped his perspective in viewing issues comprehensively—not only from a practical standpoint but also with a measurable scientific approach.

“One of the most fundamental things I learned is how to build an analytical basis. Every decision must be based on data and facts, then processed into empirical data that can be accounted for,” he explained.

This approach is the key in addressing the complexity of challenges in the field. In a constantly evolving regional dynamic, decisions can no longer rely solely on intuition. Sharp analytical skills, the ability to read situations, and the courage to choose the most relevant course of action are essential.

He also said the analytical process does not stop at data collection. It requires the ability to develop various action scenarios grounded in clear references. This ensures that every policy taken is not speculative, but measurable and accountable both academically and practically.

“With such an approach, we are not just speaking without basis. Everything must have clear references and be connected to real conditions in the field,” he emphasized.

However, Brigjen Yuniar also realizes that the concept of National Resilience must not be static. He believes that classical approaches such as Asta Gatra, Panca Gatra, and Trigatra remain relevant as a foundation, but must continue to evolve to respond to contemporary challenges.

“We cannot be fixated on existing concepts alone. We must be able to absorb new factors, adapt to evolving dynamics and strategies. That is where the concept of resilience becomes richer and more adaptive,” he explained.

This perspective reflects the importance of synergy of academia and field practice. In this context, the relationship of UGM as an educational institution and its alumni becomes highly strategic. Activities like Friday Wellness are not merely joint exercise events, but also spaces to build networks, exchange ideas, and strengthen cross-generational collaboration.

Brigjen Yuniar, for students currently pursuing their studies, has a simple yet meaningful message. He likens the academic journey to riding a bicycle—a process that may not always be fast, but must continue.

“Keep pedaling, even if slowly. The important thing is not to stop. Because if we stop, we will never reach our destination,” he advised.

This philosophy is not just motivation, but a reflection of the long journey he has undertaken. In a world full of dynamics and challenges, consistency is the key to achieving goals.

Brigjen Yuniar Dwi Hantono, with a combination of sharp analysis, openness to change, and an unwavering spirit,  demonstrated that national resilience is built not only through physical strength, but also through intellectual strength and perseverance in learning.

Amid the rapidly changing global landscape, figures like him represent how knowledge and service can go hand in hand. A reminder that safeguarding national resilience begins with how we think, make decisions, and continue moving forward without ever stopping.
