The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) continues to strengthen its research culture with the Regular Research Grant Program, a strategic initiative that supports the development of multidisciplinary research. The program not only provided research funding for faculty members but also encouraged the production of high-quality, innovative research outputs that generate tangible benefits for society.
The diverse range of research topics reflected the multidisciplinary nature of the Graduate School, covering environmental issues, public health, social sciences and humanities, technology, and sustainable development. Each research project is designed to achieve academic excellence and also to produce evidence-based recommendations that address a wide range of development challenges.
SPs UGM, as part of its research governance, regularly conducts Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of its research grant program. Held on July 6th – 8th 2026, the M&E activities aimed to ensure each research project progressed according to plan, achieved its targeted outputs, and utilized grant funding effectively and accountably. Beyond serving as a quality assurance mechanism, the M&E process also provided a forum for constructive discussions of reviewers and researchers, enabling valuable feedback to further enhance the quality and impact of the research.
SPs UGM, with the Regular Research Grant Monitoring Program, remains committed to fostering an excellent, collaborative, and impact-oriented research ecosystem. The research outcomes are expected not only to be published in reputable scientific journals but also to serve as a foundation for policymaking, innovation development, and practical solutions to various societal challenges.
SPs UGM, in the future, will continue to strengthen support for multidisciplinary research by improving grant management practices, expanding collaborative research networks, and providing continuous assistance in maximizing research outputs. These efforts are expected to make significant contributions to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
