The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) continued to strengthen its digital information and communication management with a Website Management Training held on September 10th 2026, at the Meeting Room, Main Building, 5th Floor, SPs UGM. The training was attended by administrators and administrative staff from various study programs within SPs UGM, as well as interns involved in website management.
The training was officially opened by the Chief of the Information Office of SPs UGM, Dr. Priyaji Agung Pambudi, S.Pd., M.Si. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of optimizing the website as a strategic medium for disseminating information while strengthening the institutional and study program image and branding.
“Effective website management is a strategic step that influences public and stakeholder perceptions. It has a direct impact on opportunities for institutional collaboration, the provision of transparent information for prospective students, and the strengthening of academic activity publications at SPs UGM,” said Priyaji.
The training continued with a presentation by Latif, the technical manager of the SPs UGM website. The session covered domain management policies, content management, and the news publication workflow on the SPs UGM website.
The presentation also discussed UGM Rector’s Decree Number 357/UN1.P5/KPT/HUKOR/2026 concerning the Guidelines for Domain Management at Universitas Gadjah Mada. This policy serves as the basis for organizing and integrating study program websites within the SPs UGM environment.
Information publication by study programs, with integrated management, is expected to become more systematic and aligned with SPs UGM’s digital communication strategy. News reports from each study program will also be periodically reviewed as part of monitoring publication effectiveness and strengthening study program branding.
The training addressed information security and accounts, in addition to governance, access management. One of the key discussions highlighted the importance of restricting access to study program email accounts and website management systems to minimize the risk of data misuse and safeguard institutional information.
Primary access to study program email accounts, under the new policy, is granted to authorized administrative staff or official study program administrators. Meanwhile, interns assisting with website management may be granted limited access as collaborators using their respective personal email accounts.
Participants, in the following session, took part in a technical simulation with a live demonstration. Study program administrators and interns practiced configuring web pages and following the news publication process (publishing workflow) directly with the website content management system.
The training served as a means of enhancing technical competencies and also as a platform for aligning understanding of website management standards at SPs UGM. This standardized governance approach, each study program is expected to manage its website more independently, consistently, securely, and informatively.
SPs UGM, by strengthening the capacity of website managers, is committed to developing an integrated digital information ecosystem that supports the dissemination of academic information, research, community engagement, achievements, and various academic community activities to the wider public.
