As part of the efforts to expand international study opportunities for graduate students and strengthen its collaboration with the University of Dundee, the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) conducted a socialization session for the Double Degree Program. This event aimed to provide comprehensive information about overseas study opportunities funded by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP).
The session featured representatives from the University of Dundee, including Prof. Kim Dale, Interim Vice Principal (International), and Dr. Graham Christie, Academic Regional Lead for Southeast Asia, who specifically explained the mechanisms of the Double Degree Program between the Master of Biotechnology at SPs UGM and the University of Dundee.
Prof. Kim Dale, in her presentation, highlighted the numerous benefits of joining this Double Degree program, such as the opportunity to study at two top universities, access to state-of-the-art research facilities, and global career prospects. She also emphasized that the University of Dundee has an outstanding reputation in biotechnology and medical research, which adds significant value to the graduates of this program.
The discussion session was highly engaging and interactive, with students raising various questions about research opportunities, study experiences at the University of Dundee, and the technical aspects of applying for the LPDP scholarship. The enthusiasm of the participants reflected their strong interest in the program, which is expected to open broader opportunities for SPs UGM students to gain experience in an international academic environment.
Through this program, more Master of Biotechnology students from SPs UGM are expected to enhance their academic and professional competencies on a global scale while also strengthening research collaboration between UGM and the University of Dundee.
