Yogyakarta, August 18th 2026 — The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with the UGM Directorate of Education and Teaching, held a Sharing Session on New Student Admissions to introduce three master programs to prospective students. The online socialization and promotional event took place on Tuesday, August 18th 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time).
The three master programs introduced during the event were the Higher Education Management Master Program, Bioethics Master Program, and Tourism Studies Master Program. The event provided prospective students with an opportunity to obtain first-hand information on the profiles, characteristics, and distinctive features of each program offered by the UGM Graduate School.
The sharing session featured three speakers, all of whom are chief of their respective programs: Prof. Ir. Paulus Insap Santosa, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., Chief of the Higher Education Management Master Program; Dr. Sri Setiyarini, S.Kp., M.Kes, Chief of the Bioethics Master Program; and Dr. rer.pol. Dyah Widiyastuti, S.T., M.CP., Chief of the Tourism Master Program. The session was guided by Dr. Syamsul Asri, S.Ip., M.Fil.I.
Each speaker delivered a 10–20-minute presentation highlighting the profile of their respective program. The presentations were followed by a 30-minute discussion and question-and-answer session involving all speakers. This interactive session provided prospective students with an opportunity to explore in greater depth the available options for pursuing master’s-level education.
During the discussion, participants also received information on graduate programs offered by the UGM Graduate School. Currently, the UGM Graduate School offers 14 master programs. One of the key strengths and distinguishing characteristics of education at the UGM Graduate School is its multidisciplinary approach, which enables students to develop broader academic perspectives in addressing complex issues.
The Graduate School also emphasized the importance of prospective students clearly understanding their reasons for pursuing a master’s degree. Prospective students are encouraged to consider both their academic and professional goals and to select a study program that aligns with their needs, particularly those who are already working.
“Prospective students should first identify their goals for pursuing a master’s degree and choose a program that aligns with their needs and plans for personal and career development,” was one of the key points highlighted during the discussion.
The discussion was engaging and interactive, with participants raising a variety of questions. The event was also broadcast live through UGM’s YouTube channel and Instagram account, allowing prospective students and the wider public from various regions to participate remotely.
This event made the UGM Graduate School continue to strengthen its efforts to disseminate information on new student admissions and provide prospective students with a more comprehensive overview of the available master’s-level study options. With its multidisciplinary character and academic environment that supports the development of knowledge and expertise. The three programs introduced in the session are expected to serve as valuable options for prospective students seeking to enhance their academic and professional competencies.
