Yogyakarta, September 19th 2025 — The Media and Cultural Doctoral Program, The Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held a Progress Monitoring Session for students from the 2018 to 2023 cohorts. The activity took place on Friday (19/09) from 08:30 to 11:30 AM at the Citra Wirya Meeting Room, Lobby Floor, The Malioboro Hotel & Conference Center, Yogyakarta.

The primary objective of this program was to monitor the progress of students’ dissertation research, while also identifying challenges encountered during the writing process. The program, through this monitoring,  aims to provide guidance, academic support, and direction so that students can complete their studies in a more structured and timely manner.

Budiawan, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., during the session, Chief of the Media and Cultural Doctoral Program, engaged directly with the students. Each participant was asked to report their research progress, achievements to date, as well as obstacles encountered in their dissertation work. This interactive approach not only offered constructive feedback but also served as a source of motivation for students to remain consistent in completing their dissertations.

The progress monitoring session was attended by students from the 2018 to 2023 cohorts. The atmosphere of discussion was both serious and cordial, reflecting the program’s commitment to accompanying students in navigating the demanding academic journey of doctoral research.

It is expected, through this activity,  the doctoral students in the Media and Cultural Program will be more focused, motivated, and equipped with clearer strategies to complete their dissertations. The Doctoral Program reaffirms its commitment to continuously supporting and monitoring student progress, in line with efforts to uphold academic quality within the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada.
