On Sunday, December 15th 2024, Universitas Gadjah Mada Graduate School (SPs UGM) once again demonstrated its commitment to preserve the cultural heritage of Indonesia by participating in the Nitilaku 2024 Cultural Parade. This year’s event, themed National Harmony, served as a significant moment for SPs to show its best performance through the traditional Baleganjur music from Bali.

This performance was the result of collaboration between students of the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies Program (PSPSR) and SPs administrative staff (Tendik). Thorough preparation and harmonious teamwork among all team members led to remarkable achievements. SPs proudly brought home two prestigious awards 1st Place for Best Individual Costume and 2nd Place in the Cultural Parade.

Full support from the SPs UGM Dean’s Office during the preparation and execution stages was a key factor in the team’s success. Beyond technical support, continuous encouragement helped sustain the enthusiasm and spirit of the participants to deliver their best performance.

SPs’ participation in Nitilaku was not only a show of creativity but also a tangible contribution to preserving Indonesia’s cultural diversity. The Nitilaku Cultural Parade, an annual tradition, symbolizes unity and cultural luxury, with SPs UGM playing an integral role in upholding these values.

SPs’ involvement is expected to inspire other units at UGM to continue supporting the preservation of Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
