The Master of Bioethics Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada held a roadshow at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur (UPNVJT) in Surabaya. It was part of its efforts to broaden understanding and interest in bioethics among academics and undergraduate students.

The event was attended by enthusiastic UPNVJT students and lecturers who actively participated in the various discussion sessions. Throughout the roadshow, participants were invited to explore a range of complex ethical issues—from ethics in healthcare and research challenges to social dilemmas arising from advancements in science and technology.

One of the main highlights of the discussion was how bioethics can serve as a foundation for making sustainable and humane decisions in medical practice and research. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the UGM Master of Bioethics Program aims to demonstrate that bioethics is not only relevant within academic settings but also essential in broader social life.

This roadshow served not only as a means of outreach but also as a strategic step for UGM to strengthen academic networks and introduce the Master of Bioethics program to regions beyond Yogyakarta. Through this initiative, UGM hopes to foster wider interest in bioethics and encourage inter-institutional research collaboration.
