Yogyakarta, October 20, 2025 – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a Talk Show on the Dissemination of Research and Community Service (PKM) at the parking area of Unit 3, Graduate School UGM. The event served as a platform for lecturers and researchers to present their research and community engagement outcomes that contribute to sustainable development.
The event opened with welcoming remarks from the Dean of the UGM Graduate School, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of dissemination activities as a form of academic accountability as well as a tangible contribution of higher education institutions to society.
The first session featured research presentations, beginning with Muhammad Saifur Rohman, S.P., M.Si., M.Eng., Ph.D., who presented on “Exploration, Isolation, and Cloning of L-Asparaginase Enzyme from Bacteria for the Independence of Anti-Leukemia Cancer Drug Production.” The next presentation was delivered by Dr. Sudrajat, S.Si., M.P., who discussed “Digital Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities in Strengthening Sustainable Food Security in Tejamulya Village, Argapura District.”
Following that, Dr. Duddy Roesmara, representing Prof. Dr. Catur Sugiyanto, M.A., Ph.D., presented a study titled “Opportunities for Increasing Rice Productivity to Strengthen Food Security: A Case Study in Sleman, Yogyakarta.” The discussion in this first session was moderated by Ahmad Suparmin, S.P., M.Agr., Ph.D., a lecturer at the Graduate School.
The next session focused on community service (PKM) presentations, moderated by Dr. Duddy Roesmara Donna, S.E., M.Si. The session began with Ahmad Suparmin, S.P., M.Agr., Ph.D., who presented a community engagement project titled “Integration of Banana–Secondary Crop Farming Systems, Catfish Aquaponics, and Integrated Goat/Sheep Farming to Support Food Self-Sufficiency in Singosaren Village, Banguntapan District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region.”
Next, Dr. Sudarvatno, M.Si. shared his research on underground water detection in Purworejo Regency. The final presentation was delivered by Muhammad Sulaiman, S.T., M.T., D.Eng., who discussed community service activities conducted in the border area between the Republic of Indonesia and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to support the Cross-Border Partnership program.
The event, which lasted until midday, concluded with an interactive discussion session. Through this activity, the Graduate School of UGM reaffirmed its commitment to continuously support impactful research and community service initiatives that contribute to society and national development.
