Yogyakarta, 10th December 2025 — The journey of the Graduate School (SPs) Volleyball Team of Universitas Gadjah Mada came to an end in the quarterfinals of the volleyball tournament held as part of the 76th Dies Natalis of UGM. At the match leading to the quarterfinals, the SPs Volleyball Team was eliminated after facing the team from the Faculty of Philosophy UGM in a lively and highly competitive match.

Previously, the SPs Volleyball Team demonstrated solid performance by securing victories against GIK UGM and PIAT UGM. These two wins reflected the team’s strong cohesion, well-prepared game strategy, and the players’ high fighting spirit throughout the tournament.

The match against the Faculty of Philosophy UGM was closely contested from the opening set. Both teams exchanged fast-paced attacks supported by disciplined defense. Despite putting up their best effort until the crucial points, the SPs Volleyball Team had to concede defeat and end their run in the quarterfinals.

The participation of the SPs Volleyball Team received full support from the leadership of the UGM Graduate School, who provided encouragement both directly and indirectly. This support served as an important motivation for the team to continue upholding sportsmanship, teamwork, and a strong sense of togetherness.

Participation in this tournament also aligns with SPs UGM’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through sports activities, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening collaboration and fostering camaraderie among units within UGM. This experience is expected to become valuable capital for improving performance in future sporting events.
