Jakarta, July 28th – 30th 2026 – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) participated in the 8th Indonesia International Railway Technology, Equipment, Systems and Services (RailwayTech Indonesia) 2026, the largest railway technology exhibition in the ASEAN region, held at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran. This participation reflects SPs UGM’s commitment to expand the dissemination of its academic programs to the public and strengthen collaborative networks with various stakeholders.

The event was organized by GEMISEN Indonesia (GEM Asia) in collaboration with MASKA (Indonesian Railway Society), which also served as the event’s initiator. Together with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DTSL), Faculty of Engineering, UGM, SPs UGM introduced postgraduate education oriented toward sustainable development as a foundation for national development planning. RailwayTech Indonesia is an international forum that brings together higher education institutions, ministries, local governments, industry players, professional associations, as well as national and international companies engaged in transportation and infrastructure.

SPs UGM’s participation in this education exhibition also aimed to expand cross-disciplinary networks and partnerships. Interactions with government institutions, industry, and higher education institutions opened opportunities for collaboration in research, public policy development, and human resource capacity building.

The enthusiasm of visitors demonstrated the growing demand for higher education capability to integrate scientific knowledge with increasingly complex development challenges. UGM’s participation in the forum served as a platform for promoting its academic programs and also as a strategic space for fostering academic communication with potential partners committed to developing safe, inclusive, and sustainable transportation systems.
