Yogyakarta, April 23rd 2025 — A warm and heartfelt atmosphere filled the closing session of the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony at the UGM Graduate School as students and faculty members of the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies Program (PSPSR) delivered a moving musical performance. Two songs were performed with deep emotion, accompanying the bittersweet farewell between the graduates and their beloved alma mater.

The first song, Rumah Kita (Our Home), deeply touched the audience with lyrics such as “but all of this is ours, and all of that is ours, our home is here.” The melody echoed throughout the venue, creating an emotional moment when the Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., joined in singing the heartfelt verses. The song served as a reminder that the UGM Graduate School is an intellectual home that always welcomes its alumni, and it encourages graduates to uphold the university’s good name wherever they go.

The performance concluded with the song Mengejar Matahari (Chasing the Sun), which conveyed a message of perseverance in pursuing one’s dreams, both in academic and professional realms. Through this song, the spirit and determination of the graduates were reignited as they prepared to enter a new chapter in life.

This musical moment served as a sweet and memorable closing to the graduation ceremony. The warmth and camaraderie that filled the event became a source of positive energy and motivation to step into the future with optimism and confidence.
