Yogyakarta, 19 November 2025 — The Population Doctoral Program at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada received a visit from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) of the Republic of Indonesia to discuss the ongoing collaborative programs. The activity took place in Room B102, Building B, Faculty of Geography.

Prof. Dr. Sri Rum Giyarsih, S.Si., M.Si., as the Chief of the Population Doctoral Program at the Graduate School, welcomed the visit with great enthusiasm. The strong collaboration established between BRIN and the Doctoral Program in Population Studies has enabled both parties to positively contribute for research innovation’s advancement, particularly in the field of population studies.

The BRIN Population Research Center has established various collaborative programs with the Population Doctoral Program, such as sending staff members to pursue doctoral degrees and supporting research organized by BRIN’s Social and Humanities Science Research Organization. This collaboration is expected to strengthen and enhance innovative discoveries that support population development.

This collaboration also provides significant opportunities for students in the “by research” pathway to participate in the offered research collaborations. This will certainly broaden the cooperative network, creating impactful contributions for all stakeholders by supporting high-quality and sustainable research in the field of population studies.
