Yogyakarta, 12th November 2025 – Media and Cultural Studies Program of the Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held a Book Exhibition titled “Meretas Batas: Trajectories of Knowledge in Media and Cultural Studies”. It was part of its 4th Lustrum celebration. The exhibition opening took place on Wednesday (12/11) at the Lobby of Unit 1, The Graduate School UGM, attended by lecturers, students, alumni, and other academic community members.
The event began at 12.00 PM with guest reception by the committee, followed by an opening remark by the Master of Ceremony, Nurul Fajri Kusuma. The Curatorial Note was delivered by Abiyoso on behalf of the Exhibition Team. In his presentation, he explained that the theme “Meretas Batas” reflects the evolving ideas, research, and knowledge production within KBM that continue to develop dynamically, crossing disciplinary boundaries and opening new spaces for exploration in cultural and media studies.
A welcoming speech was then delivered by the Chief of the Media and Cultural Studies Master’s Program, Dr. Ratna Noviani. The exhibition was officially opened with a symbolic ceremony by the Program Chief, accompanied by the Exhibition Team, by unveiling the exhibition title and lighting the main installation. After the ceremony, visitors were invited to enjoy the exhibited works in a relaxed atmosphere during the snacking & networking session until 1:30 PM. All activities were documented by the KBM PDD Team for reporting and publication purposes.
The “Meretas Batas” Book Exhibition runs from 12th–14th November 2025 at the Lobby of Unit 1, Graduate School UGM, and was open to the academic community as well as the public. The exhibition features the latest works of KBM lecturers, students, and alumni, showcasing diverse approaches and developments in cultural and media studies research. Through this event, KBM aims to strengthen its academic ecosystem and foster broader intellectual dialogue within the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada.
