Yogyakarta, May 5th 2025 — The Public Relations Division of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized a Workshop on Narrative Publication Writing for Sexual Violence Case as part of the efforts to strengthen public relations capacity in addressing sensitive issues within the university environment. The workshop, held on Monday, May 5th 2025, was attended by public relations officers from various units at UGM, faculties and the graduate school.

The workshop featured interactive sessions including simulations on writing press releases, case studies, and crisis communication strategies in the context of sexual violence. The discussions were dynamic and open, reflecting UGM’s strong commitment in fostering a safe and just academic environment.

During the case-writing practice session, Group 8, comprising participants from the Faculty of Geography, the Graduate School (SPs), and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) stood out due to their active participation and high enthusiasm in constructing the case narrative. Their intensive discussions resulted in a systematic writing framework, sharp identification of strategic issues, and strong data-based arguments.

This workshop not only enriched participants’ skills in writing strategic narratives but also served as a reflective space to develop sensitivity toward social issues, communication ethics, and to strengthen inter-unit synergy in facing institutional communication challenges.
