Yogyakarta, August 23rd 2025 – The Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies Master Program (PSPSR), Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), once again presented a dissemination forum titled “Gelar Jejak.” This forum serves as a platform for students and alumni to present their thesis research to the public.

The initiative stems from the awareness that many high-quality research works produced by PSPSR students often remain in university repositories or thesis defense rooms, without reaching a broader audience. The “Gelar Jejak” presented these scholarly works are brought back to life through presentations, discussions, and open dialogues with cross-disciplinary academics, art practitioners, and the general public.

This forum showcased research findings and also highlighted the stories behind the creative and intellectual processes that shape them. Art is positioned as a medium of understanding, interpretation, and as a bridge between the academic realm and the public sphere.

“Gelar Jejak,” in its second edition, featured two speakers: Rifa Fitriana, S.Sn., M.A with a study entitled The Allure of Flow-Art in the Dance Performances of Flownesia Community, and Agim Gunawan, S.Sn., M.A with a study entitled Pepe-Pepeka Ri Makka: A Risky Performance.

The “Gelar Jejak” forum will be held online every month, allowing participants from various regions to join. Participants include students, alumni, lecturers, cross-disciplinary academics, and the general public with an interest in arts and culture.

Thus, “Gelar Jejak” is not only an academic forum but also a shared celebration of the dynamics of art and knowledge that live within society.
