The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) hosted a delegation from Universiti Malaya (UM) on November 19th 2024, as part of efforts to expand collaboration in education, research, and innovation. This visit marked an important milestone in strengthening synergies between the two institutions.

Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at SPs UGM, expressed his appreciation for the visit. “This visit is an opportunity to exchange information and best practices, encouraging the development of more relevant educational innovations. We hope this collaboration will yield a positive impact in both countries,” he stated.

The Universiti Malaya delegation, led by Saidatul Azura Radzi, Assistant Registrar of the Research Cluster Office, carried a mission to explore strategic collaboration potentials. The discussions focused on various academic and research aspects with significant development opportunities.

Dr. Reni Rosari, M.B.A., and Ir. Nanung Danar Dono, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., from SPs UGM, highlighted the potential for collaboration in halal industry research and inter-institutional seminars. “The halal industry is a promising sector and a relevant exploration area for both universities. If this collaboration is established, we are optimistic it will support the growth of the education sector and improve human resource quality,” they remarked.

Additionally, Dr. Ir. Rini Dharmastiti, M.Sc., Chair of the Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering, expressed her interest in exploring partnerships in medical and health spectrums. Meanwhile, Dr. Samsul Maarif, M.A., Chair of the Religious and Cross-Cultural Studies Program (ALB), emphasized the potential to further explore cultural program collaborations at UM.
