The Tourism Doctoral Program of Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University (UGM), held a DKP Gathering event, which coincided with the graduation ceremony for the April 2026 graduates on Thursday, April 23rd 2026. The event took place in the hallway and front yard of the UGM Graduate School Building in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The event was attended by active students, graduates, and members of the Tourism Doctoral Program. In addition to fostering camaraderie, the DKP Gathering also served as a strategic opportunity to foster connections of graduates and the academic community, while also providing the graduates with the necessary tools to implement their knowledge in practice.

The event began with participant registration, followed by opening remarks from the Chief of the Tourism Doctoral Program, Dr. Mohamad Yusuf, M.A. In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation for the graduates’ achievements and the importance of maintaining academic networks and academic integrity after completing their studies.

The event had a dynamic atmosphere, with a series of interactive events, including an icebreaker session involving all participants. One highlight was the graduates’ impressions and messages, represented by several graduates, namely Shinta Teviningrum, Raniri Munawar, and Ray March Syahadat. In the session, the graduates shared their experiences during their doctoral studies, the challenges they faced, and reflected on their academic journey.

Furthermore, impressions and messages were delivered by the promoting team, consisting of Prof. Dr. Heddy Shri Ahimsa Putra, M.A., M.Phil., Prof. Dr. M. Baiquni, M.A., and Prof. Dr. Tri Kuntoro Priyambodo, M.Sc. The promoting team emphasized the importance of maintaining scientific consistency, academic ethics, and the graduates’ tangible contributions to addressing various challenges in the tourism sector.

The event continued with a group photo session and a friendly meal, further strengthening the sense of togetherness among all participants. The series of events, which lasted from afternoon until evening, concluded with a cordial atmosphere.

The Tourism Doctoral Program, with this DKP Gathering, not only strengthened bonds among its academic community but also reaffirmed its commitment to building a sustainable academic community.
