Yogyakarta, 12th January 2026 — Another proud achievement has been attained by the Graduate School (SPS) of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The Cultural and Media Master’s Program has officially been awarded “Excellent” Accreditation by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Social, Political, Administrative, and Communication Sciences (LAMSPAK). This achievement reaffirms SPS UGM’s commitment to deliver high-quality, competitive, and sustainable higher education.
The Excellent Accreditation status was granted on LAMSPAK Executive Board Decree Number 136/AK.03.05/2025, dated 16th December 2025, and is valid for a five-year period, from 7th October 2025 to 7th October 2030.
Excellent Accreditation represents the highest level within Indonesia’s national accreditation system and reflects excellence in program governance, human resource quality, adaptive curriculum design, and achievements in the three pillars of higher education (education, research, and community service). This accomplishment further strengthens the position of the Master’s Program in Cultural and Media Studies as a program that is responsive to contemporary social, cultural, and media dynamics.
The Dean of the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada stated that this achievement is the result of collective efforts from the entire academic community.
“This Excellent Accreditation is a recognition of the Graduate School of UGM on commitment to maintain academic quality and sustainable educational governance. It is the result of collaborative work by the entire academic community and the support of our partners, and it serves as a motivation to continuously enhance the quality of education and research in cultural and media studies,” the Dean remarked.
Moving forward, SPS UGM remains committed to continuously improving educational quality, encouraging research innovation, and expanding strategic partnerships to produce graduates with integrity, critical thinking skills, and the capacity to contribute to societal development.
