The Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held technical training on procurement of goods and services for staff on Wednesday (22/5). The purpose of this activity is to provide understanding of the procurement process for goods, services, and tenders in accordance with university regulations. This training is important as a self-development initiative for updating and refreshing the insights of staff in the relevant field.

The Graduate School of UGM maintains its commitment to continuously develop sustainable learning programs. With the advancement of time and technology, every member of the organization, including both lecturers and staff, needs to develop their respective abilities and skills so it can improve work productivity. This forms the background of organizing this training and various other self-development programs at SPs UGM.

This procurement training consisted of material sessions and practices delivered by two presenters. Agung Nugroho, S.T., M.Sc., as the Coordinator of Contract Implementation Division at The Procurement Office of UGM, was the first presenter. In this session, Agung explained the material related to the governance of procurement of goods and services within UGM, which undergoes updates from year to year. These regulatory changes are aimed at improving organizational management with the introduction of various innovations and process enhancements.

Furthermore, this training also addressed the use of information technology in the procurement process. Agus Sudaryanto, S.E., M.Ec.Dev, Coordinator of the Procurement System Management Division at The Procurement Office of UGM, presented information about the use of a UGM procurement application called SIPINTER (Integrated Procurement Information System). Agus stated that this system is developed to create a clean, transparent, competitive, and accountable procurement process. Moreover, with this system, the procurement process at UGM can create equal opportunities for goods and services providers to obtain work packages at UGM. Besides delivering the material, Agus also invited all training participants to practice procuring goods through SIPINTER.

The activity was followed by enthusiastic discussions from the training participants. Equipped with pretest, posttest, and individual tasks for each participant, this training is expected to enhance the abilities and skills of staff in the procurement process of goods and services.
