The Population Doctoral Program  has established a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Transmigration under the activity namely Economic Development Study in Transmigration Areas along the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road Corridor (JTTS). To support the outputs of this collaboration, the Population Doctoral Program conducted a consortium meeting to align the research findings based on data collection processes and interviews conducted across the Sumatera region.

The consortium meeting took place on 15th – 16th November 2025 at Homestay Georgium Dunia & Eduwisata. The event was attended by a team of experts and their assistants working together to compile the research report that would later be presented to the Ministry of Transmigration.

The objective of this activity is to produce a preliminary model for economic development in the transmigration areas of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road Corridor (JTTS), which will be outlined in the final report of the Economic Development Study in Transmigration Areas of the JTTS Corridor.

Dr. Djaka Marwasta, S.Si., M.Si., as the chief of the expert team, provided guidance to all members and assistants to meticulously prepare and compile the research materials covering all aspects of the JTTS corridor development. The intention of this research is to achieve an ideal understanding for policy-making by involving practitioners, academics, and policymakers, grounded in real field conditions.
