Yogyakarta, September 21, 2026 – The Universitas Gadjah Mada Graduate School (SPs UGM) conducted its 2026 Internal Quality Audit (AMI) for study programs, specifically the inquiry session addressed to the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS), on Monday (Sept 21). Held at the UGM Graduate School’s 5th-floor auditorium, this session was part of an annual quality evaluation series designed to verify the Graduate School’s performance in managing and enhancing quality outcomes over the past year.
The AMI process at SPs UGM involved 25 auditors drawn from various faculties across Universitas Gadjah Mada. The participation of cross-faculty auditors was a crucial element of the audit, given the Graduate School’s multidisciplinary academic nature. The auditors’ diverse perspectives were expected to facilitate a more comprehensive evaluation of quality management within SPs.
The UPPS inquiry session, held from 12:45 to 15:00 WIB, provided a forum for auditors to directly verify the achievements, management processes, and quality assurance follow-up actions undertaken by the Graduate School over the past year. Questions and discussions focused on gaining insight into how SPs—acting as the UPPS—executes its management role to support the quality achievements of its study programs.
During this process, quality management was assessed not merely by the existence of policies or supporting documents, but also by how those policies are implemented, evaluated, and acted upon in the conduct of education. Thus, the UPPS inquiry session served as a platform to reconcile reported achievements with actual quality management practices within the Graduate School.
The involvement of auditors from various faculties also provided cross-disciplinary perspectives relevant to the character of SPs UGM. As a Graduate School overseeing programs across diverse academic disciplines, quality management requires an approach that accommodates varied academic characteristics while maintaining consistency with university-established quality standards.
The implementation of this Internal Academic Quality Audit (AMI) is part of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) within the UGM Graduate School. Through periodic audits, quality achievements over the past year can be systematically reviewed, serving as a basis for identifying areas that require strengthening in the upcoming period.
More than just an annual evaluation step, the inquiry session with the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS) serves as a moment of reflection for the Graduate School to assess the effectiveness of efforts made to maintain quality. The confirmation process with auditors allows the Graduate School to gain internal-external perspectives from within the UGM environment regarding achievements, challenges, and actionable development opportunities.
The results of the AMI process are expected to facilitate continuous quality improvement. By integrating auditor findings, inquiries, and feedback into the institution’s learning process, the UGM Graduate School continues to strengthen a quality culture that goes beyond mere standard compliance, moving instead toward the continuous enhancement of academic and non-academic management quality.
Through the 2026 Study Program AMI, the UGM Graduate School reaffirms that quality assurance is a shared responsibility. The involvement of cross-faculty auditors and the performance confirmation process are integral to building a quality ecosystem that is collaborative, reflective, and oriented toward continuous improvement—aligning with the Graduate School’s identity as a hub for interdisciplinary academic development.
