Yogyakarta, April 29th 2026 — The commitment to strengthen emergency readiness continues to be reinforced by the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM). One of the efforts is with the participation of a security staff member, Rudi Eko Prasetyo, in the Emergency Response Training for Water Rescue held at Wisdom Park Lake, UGM.

The training, organized by the Office of Safety, Occupational Health, Emergency, and Environment (K5L) UGM in collaboration with BASARNAS DIY. It aimed to improve human resource capacity in handling emergency situations, particularly in aquatic environments.

During the activity, participants were equipped with first aid skills such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), water rescue techniques, the use of safety equipment, and safe and effective evacuation procedures. The training was conducted in an integrated manner through both theoretical sessions and hands-on practice to ensure participants can apply their knowledge in real situations.

Rudi Eko Prasetyo stated that the training provided valuable experience and increased his confidence in carrying out his duties. “This training is very important for us as security personnel to respond to emergency situations quickly, accurately, and professionally,” he said.

This activity is also part of UGM’s efforts to strengthen a culture of safety and readiness within the campus environment. With this training, security personnel are expected to become the front line in providing protection and assistance to the academic community.
