Yogyakarta, April 20th 2026 – The Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies Master Program (PSPSR) at the UGM Graduate School (SPs) has taken a strategic step toward enhancing academic achievements and institutional quality. The initiative titled “Collaborative Thesis Coaching Session (CTCS)” shows the program provided intensive mentoring for final-year students over three days, April 17th–19th 2026, at the Boko Meeting Room, Grand Diamond Hotel Yogyakarta. This activity is crucial as the current academic year serves as a decisive period for the program’s accreditation scoring.
The Chief of the PSPSR Master Program, Dr. Rr. Paramitha Dyah Fitriasari, M.Hum., during the opening, emphasized that CTCS is a proactive response to help students complete their theses systematically, purposefully, and on time. A total of 18 students, including those from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts, participated in a series of agendas ranging from progress reports and collective mentoring to create independent work. This synergy is expected to affect individual academic achievements and also directly contribute in improving graduation timeliness and the institution’s reputation at both national and international levels.
A collaborative atmosphere was palpable during the intensive coaching sessions featuring esteemed discussants, including Prof. Drs. Heddy Shri Ahimsa-Putra, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D. and Prof. Dra. Raden Ajeng Yayi Suryo Prabandari, M.Si., Ph.D. Students were given the space to dissect methodological obstacles and sharpen critical analysis of art research objects. These interest group discussions also served as a platform for sharing experiences among students to foster independence and academic discipline. With guidance from 12 expert discussants, each student left with a concrete follow-up plan (RTL), with most participants targeting thesis examinations between May and June 2026.
The implementation of CTCS is a tangible manifestation of SPs UGM’s support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4) by strengthening the research competence of postgraduate students. Furthermore, the active involvement of various cross-disciplinary experts in this activity supports Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) to ensure the sustainability of higher education quality. Through these responsive measures, the Master of PSPSR SPs UGM is optimistic about continuing to produce excellent graduates while maintaining its top-tier accreditation status as a center of excellence for art studies in Indonesia.
