Tourism Master Program at the Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University (SPs UGM) collaborates with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia to implement the higher education tridharma, specifically in the field of education, by organizing a student study monitoring seminar on September 3rd – 4th at Kalyana Resort, Sleman, DIY. This event was attended by 5 students currently in their third semester and in the process of drafting their thesis proposals.

The event aimed to provide mutual motivation to optimize the study process, especially during the preparation of the final thesis with the presence of all thesis advisor lecturers. Students were given the opportunity to present their ideas, concepts, or any difficulties encountered during their thesis writing process.

The two-day event was opened with a speech by Dr. rer. pol. Dyah Widiyastuti, S.T., M.CP., Chief of the Tourism Master Program. Subsequently, advisors and students discussed research understanding, problem formulation, and literature review in thesis writing.

Guidance on research topics became crucial for mapping out the objectives of the thesis writing. The material discussed in this session was very important as it focused on key terms, their definitions and explanations, and clear, operational research methods.

On the second day, students had the opportunity to present their thesis proposals before all the advisors to receive guidance and feedback. The success of this activity will serve as a benchmark for students in completing their final thesis optimally.
