The Environmental Management Master Interest at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (MPL SPs UGM) held a guest lecture on the Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) and Environmental Audit. The course was on Tuesday, April 28th 2026. The event featured Muchamad Rifqi Sultoni from the Environmental and Forestry Agency of the Special Region of Yogyakarta as the guest speaker, presenting the topic “Screening and Procedures for Submitting Environmental Documents.”
The speaker’s presentation comprehensively explained the stages of screening activities or business requirements to prepare environmental documents, as well as the mechanism for determining the types of documents needed, including AMDAL, UKL-UPL, and other environmental approvals. In addition, the session also discussed the flow and procedures for submitting environmental documents in accordance with the applicable regulations in Indonesia.
Students also gained an understanding of the administrative and technical processes involved in submitting environmental documents, including the role of government institutions in evaluating and verifying the documents. The materials presented provided a practical overview of the implementation of the environmental licensing system at both regional and national levels.
The activity was conducted interactively with discussion and question-and-answer sessions. The students showed great enthusiasm by raising various questions regarding screening practices, challenges in preparing environmental documents, and implementation experiences in the field.
This guest lecture expects the students of the Master of Environmental Management Program will strengthen their theoretical understanding while also gaining practical insights into the process of environmental document management and approval in Indonesia.
