November 3rd 2026 – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) continues to foster an environmentally conscious culture with simple everyday practices within its community. One such initiative encourages academic community members to clean their own dining tables and sort their waste after finishing their meals at the SPs UGM Cafeteria.
This practice encourages all cafeteria users, including lecturers, educational staff, students, and visitors, to take responsibility to keep the areas they use clean. After finishing their meals, everyone is expected to clear away food leftovers, arrange dining utensils according to the applicable guidelines, and dispose of and sort waste by type into the designated bins.
This simple action goes beyond maintaining cafeteria cleanliness. It is also part of a broader effort to build shared environmental awareness and responsibility. By getting into the habit of cleaning their own dining areas, everyone contributes in creating a comfortable, clean, and well-organized shared space.
SPs UGM believes that an environmentally conscious culture can begin with small actions carried out consistently. Sorting waste after meals is also a practical step toward more responsible waste management.
This initiative showed SPs UGM encourages all members of its academic community to make environmental awareness part of their daily lives. After eating, clean up after yourself and sort your waste properly. A clean environment is everyone’s responsibility.
