Yogyakata (9/4) Gadjah Mada University Graduate School (SPs) held an open examination for the dissertation of Diah Ajeng Purwani, a student of the Development Extension and Communication Study Program. The Doctoral Promotion takes place in the 5th floor Seminar Room, UGM Graduate School.
On this occasion, Diah Ajeng explained the results of her research, namely a new theoretical view of empowerment in the digital world for the millennial generation through its elements. The key elements in this research have never been touched in the realm of development extension and communication. This novelty is a special emphasis in Ajeng's presentation.
One of the important points that became the starting point for this research was the Marketer's survey results. He mentioned that there are three sub-structures that affect the dynamics of the world and the current market. These three things include Youth, Woman, Netizen (YWN). The three of them are recognized as capable of being the driving force for the transformation of trends, lifestyles, and things that are contemporary by their socioculture.
Based on this, this study took seven young social entrepreneurs who in fact are the millennial generation. They are people who actively use new media for 3 consecutive years to develop their entrepreneurial activities. All informants involved in this study have an activity base in Yogyakarta.
Diah Ajeng emphasized the findings of this study, namely the concept of empowerment in the digital world (empowerment in the digital world). Being a content creator is an effort to empower yourself. Young social entrepreneurs only maintain consistency in the efforts they have put in.
This empowerment in the digital world leads to their self-commitment in the virtual world so they don't stop halfway by increasing human-to-human relationships through machine to machine.
This lecturer in the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University, Yogyakarta, successfully passed his Doctorate with the predicate Cumlaude. (Sps / Eni / AW)
