Yogyakarta (21/8), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Public Relations, News and Protocol Office held a workshop with the theme “Optimizing SEO to Strengthen the University’s Image.” This training aims to improve the skills of the public relations team, especially in the context of education for sustainability and the effective use of communication technology.

Participants from various work units and faculties within UGM were also present, including representatives from theĀ  Postgraduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM). The SPs public relations team was represented by Arfikah Istari and Siti Muyasaroh.

Presenting Muhammad Ilman Akbar as the main speaker, a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) professional and founder of DailySEO ID (dailyseo.id), provided valuable insight into how UGM can increase its presence and visibility online. This is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in education and access to technology, as it emphasizes the importance of digital literacy in today’s world.

Ilman Akbar shared tips and tricks with all participants about how to use SEO to increase website traffic. Apart from that, Ilman also emphasized that in this context it is also important to have collaboration or cooperation with external parties. For example, in news, you can exchange news links to add more complete information tools and media.

SEO focuses on search results by optimizing online content. SEO can help provide comprehensive information to prospective students and stakeholders by easily finding relevant information about universities.

This workshop is part of UGM commitment for education sustainability, which emphasizes the need for continuous learning and adaptation in a rapidly changing digital landscape. Equipping the public relations team with SEO skills is one of UGM steps in encouraging a culture of innovation and collaboration, which is very important for achieving the SDGs.
