In commemoration of its 41st Anniversary, the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) is hosting a Mixed Plastic Volleyball Tournament involving all members of the SPs UGM academic community. This event aims to foster a sense of family and to build sportsmanship and strength among participants, marking the beginning of a move towards advancing SPs UGM to greater achievements in the years to come.

The Mixed Plastic Volleyball Tournament will be held every Friday morning, starting on Friday, August 23rd, 2024, at the Graduate School grounds. The matches will continue until the end of September 2024. Each Mixed Plastic Volleyball team will showcase their best players to compete, making the tournament increasingly competitive and full of enthusiasm.

Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation, stated in his speech that the tournament symbolizes unity and collaboration among all elements of SPs UGM. “We hope that with this activity, all members of the academic community can become closer, more enthusiastic, and more cohesive in their joint efforts to advance SPs UGM to be recognized on the international stage,” he said.

Dr. Widyanto also emphasized the importance of sports activities in strengthening relationships among academic members. According to him, tournaments like this will promote physical fitness and serve as a platform for strengthening ties and building solid teamwork.

With the sense of family created by this event, it is hoped that SPs UGM will continue to grow into an institution that excels not only academically but also in unity. Active participation from all academic members is expected to have a positive, sustainable impact on SPs UGM’s development in the future.
