Jogja, Postgraduate School (SPs) UGM held Community Service activities around the campus on August 13, 2021. The location targeted for this activity was Pogung Kidul Hamlet, Sinduadi, Mlati, Sleman, Yogyakarta. This activity is a means to increase awareness of various problems that arise in the community, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dr. Dina Ruslanjari, one of the lecturers at the SPs UGM Disaster Management Masters Program as the leader of the team said that one of the community service activities in Pogung Kidul was aimed at easing the burden on the community who were currently directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. “Hopefully this assistance from SPs UGM can help ease the burden, especially for Pogung Kidul residents who are undergoing independent isolation or who are directly affected,” said Dina.

Meanwhile Agus Purwanto, Hamlet of Pogung Kidul, expressed his gratitude and pride because SPs UGM cares about people who are suffering from Covid-19. “The assistance from SPs is very useful for us. Hopefully SPs will always be blessed and provide benefits for the people of Pogung in particular and Indonesia in general,” said Agus Purwanto.

This Community Service activity in Pogung Kidul was also attended by a number of staff from SPs, Ana Anggraini (Kasi for Academics, Dian Hadiani (Kasi for Administration and Finance), Surono, and several other staff. Using strict health protocols, the team provided assistance as much as 100 logistical packages for residents who are sick and self-isolating (SPs, Surono, Arni)
