Yogyakarta – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) officially opened the series of events commemorating its 43rd anniversary on Friday, September 11th 2026. Carrying the spirit of togetherness and collegiality, the opening marked the beginning of various activities celebrating 43 years of the Graduate School’s journey.
The event began with a morning exercise session attended by SPs leaders, faculty members, administrative staff, partners, and student representatives. It was followed by remarks from the Chair of the 43rd Anniversary Committee, Dicky Sofjan, M.P.P., M.A., Ph.D., and the Dean of SPs UGM, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D.
The event continued with the release of koi fish into the SPs pond by the university leaders, the Anniversary Committee Chair, and several faculty members. The atmosphere became even more lively with the game of gobak sodor, a traditional Indonesian game that was among the most anticipated activities. The game required teamwork, strategy, and agility. It brought excitement and also evoked childhood memories and strengthened the sense of togetherness among the participants.
The opening of the 43rd anniversary celebration marked the beginning of a series of activities organized by the Graduate School of UGM to celebrate its 43-year journey and contributions.
