The Population Doctoral Program at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) continues to strengthen its academic network and expand opportunities for collaboration with universities across Indonesia. One of these efforts was carried out with a socialization event introducing the Population Doctoral Program along with an exploration of potential collaboration with Mulawarman University, which took place on September 4th 2026.
The activity is part of the Population Doctoral Program’ commitment to foster synergy with higher education institutions, particularly in advancing education, research, and community engagement in the field of population studies.
The event showed the Chief of the Population Doctoral Program Dr. Agus Joko Pitoyo, S.Si., M.A., introduced the program’s profile, vision and mission, curriculum, areas of study, as well as its various academic strengths and opportunities to the academic community of Mulawarman University.
The Population Doctoral Program, through its meeting with Mulawarman University, explored opportunities to develop various forms of academic collaboration. The potential cooperation is expected to include joint research, academic knowledge and experience exchange, human resource development, as well as other academic activities that can benefit both institutions.
The synergy of the Population Doctoral Program and Mulawarman University is expected to serve as an initial step toward establishing sustainable collaboration. Collaboration among higher education institutions is increasingly important for producing research that is relevant to regional and national needs, and also strengthening the contribution of universities in addressing various population-related challenges.
