Yogyakarta, 7th September 2026 — The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) has implemented the SPs UGM Educational Scholarship program for new students of the 2026/2027 academic year. The program represents SPs UGM’s commitment to supporting students’ access to education and encouraging their involvement in the academic and institutional environment.
The scholarship selection process began with administrative screening and continued with interviews for prospective scholarship recipients, held online on 23rd July 2026. The interviews formed an important part of the selection process to assess the readiness and suitability of candidates for the scholarship program.
The selection process had 40 students assigned through the 2026 SPs UGM Educational Scholarship program. They come from various study programs and areas of interest at SPs UGM, including Religion and Cross-Cultural Studies, Bioethics, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Media and Cultural Studies, Tourism Studies, Leadership and Policy Innovation, Population Studies, National Resilience, Disaster Management, Higher Education Management, Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies, Development Extension and Communication, and Biomedical Engineering.
The students have been assigned to various areas that support academic and institutional activities at SPs UGM. These include academic affairs, research, information technology, human resources, publishing, cooperation, asset management, secretariat and public relations, as well as assignments related to their respective study programs.
Each assignment is accompanied by a designated person in charge (PIC) and financial management staff (PUMK). This arrangement is intended to provide students with clear guidance and support as they carry out their respective responsibilities.
The selection and assignment process followed by SPs UGM held a coordination meeting on 2nd September 2026 to prepare for the implementation of assignments for scholarship recipients. The meeting brought together relevant administrators, staff, and students to coordinate the implementation of the assignments within the SPs UGM environment.
The assignments are intended as a form of student contribution to institutional activities and also as an opportunity for learning beyond the classroom. Through their involvement in various areas, students can gain practical experience while developing communication, coordination, teamwork, and responsibility.
The SPs UGM Educational Scholarship 2026 extends beyond the selection of scholarship recipients to provide students with opportunities to learn, contribute, and become more actively engaged in the academic community. The program reflects an effort to connect educational support with student development and the strengthening of the academic ecosystem at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada.
