Yogyakarta, June 12th 2026 – The Population Master Program at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM), in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), organized a webinar sharing session entitled “Introduction to the Population Master Program: BRIN Degree by Research Scholarship.” The webinar served as an important source of information for prospective students seeking scholarship opportunities to pursue graduate studies.

The event featured Nawawi, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., who currently serves as Chief of the Center for Legal Research at BRIN and previously held the position of Chief of the Center for Population Research at BRIN, as the keynote speaker.

The webinar commenced with opening remarks from the Chief of the Population Master Program, Dr. Raden Rara Wiwik Puji Mulyani, S.Si., M.Si., who provided an overview of the  program and introduced the curriculum that can be pursued with the Degree by Research pathway. This pathway is designed for students undertaking study leave arrangements, allowing them to continue fulfilling their professional responsibilities while pursuing their academic studies. As a result, students are able to balance academic activities with their work commitments.

Nawawi explained in his presentation the eligibility requirements for applicants and shared practical tips for successfully navigating the scholarship selection process. The session attracted significant interest from participants, as it provided valuable information that remains relatively unfamiliar to the broader public, particularly for those planning to continue their studies with the BRIN Degree by Research Scholarship scheme. Participants enthusiastically engaged in the discussion and had the opportunity to directly ask questions regarding various aspects of the scholarship program and its accessibility.

This activity is expected to open new opportunities for prospective students and future scholars, particularly in the field of population studies, to continue innovating and enriching their academic expertise. One of the anticipated outcomes of the webinar is an increase in the number of prospective students in the Population Master Program who are able to access the BRIN Degree by Research Scholarship.
