The Higher Education Management (MMPT) Master Program at the Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University has officially received an international accreditation certificate from ACQUIN, granting it fully accredited status for the period from March 23rd 2026, to September 30th 2032. This information is stated in an official letter from Gadjah Mada University No. 4483/UN1.P1/Set-R/JM.02.01/2026, dated May 5th 2026, regarding the results of the ACQUIN international accreditation.
This certification represents international recognition of the quality of MMPT’s education delivery, academic governance, and curriculum development, which adheres to global quality standards. MMPT is one of the master programs at UGM which achieve full accreditation from ACQUIN, along with several other study programs in the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.
ACQUIN international accreditation is a higher education quality assurance instrument that comprehensively assesses various aspects, including the curriculum, learning outcomes, study program governance, quality assurance systems, student learning support, and the relevance of graduates to the needs of the workforce and global developments. In its assessment process, ACQUIN also emphasizes the importance of sustainable study program development with a continuous quality improvement approach.
Obtaining this certification demonstrates that the MMPT Master Program has a structured, measurable, and adaptive academic management system that adapts to the dynamics of higher education. The Outcome-Based Education approach is a key aspect of the assessment process, including how learning outcomes are implemented with the curriculum, learning methods, assessment systems, and ongoing evaluation.
Furthermore, the accreditation process highlighted the importance of stakeholder involvement in curriculum development and study program management. This is reflected in the strengthening of academic networks, institutional collaboration, and the study program’s efforts to maintain the relevance of graduate competencies to the evolving needs of the higher education sector.
Obtaining the ACQUIN certification also strengthens the position of the UGM Graduate School in promoting the internationalization of higher education. This achievement is a form of external recognition, and also a reflection of the institution’s commitment to maintain a sustainable quality culture with the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI), regular evaluations, and academic development responsive to global changes.
UGM, in an official letter signed by UGM’s Vice Rector for Education and Teaching, Wening Udasmoro, also expressed its appreciation to the entire accreditation team for this achievement and emphasized the hope that achieving international accreditation will further enhance the spirit of sustainable quality assurance.
As a Master program focused on developing higher education management and leadership, MMPT plays a strategic role in developing human resources capable of contributing to the governance of higher education institutions professionally, innovatively, and with integrity. MMPT, with this international accreditation, is expected to further expand its contribution to the development of higher education, both nationally and internationally.
This achievement also inspires the UGM Graduate School to continue strengthening a superior, collaborative, and globally competitive academic ecosystem. Through continuous quality improvement, the UGM Graduate School is committed to providing higher education that is relevant, adaptive, and impactful to society.
