The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a visit from the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (UDINUS) on Thursday, January 8th 2026. This visit was part of ongoing efforts strengthening long-standing academic cooperation, particularly in the development of education.
The activity was attended by members of the leaders of the Graduate School and the management of the Biomedical Engineering Master’s Program at UGM, including the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr.; the Coordinator of the Cooperation, Public Relations, and Promotion Unit, Dr. Priyaji Agung Pambudi, S.Pd., M.Si.; the Chief of the Biomedical Engineering Master Program, Ir. Rini Dharmastiti, M.Sc., Ph.D.; and the Quality Assurance Officer of the Biomedical Engineering Master Program, drg. Heribertus Dedy Kusuma Yulianto, M.Biotech., Ph.D. The academic support staff of the UGM Graduate School were also in attendance.
The delegation from the Universitas Dian Nuswantoro Faculty of Engineering was led by Dr. Ratih Setyaningrum, M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, together with heads and secretaries of study programs: Dr. Ir. Aripin, M.Kom., IPM., ASEAN Eng. (Chief of the Biomedical Engineering Program), Dr. M. Ary Heryanto, M.Eng., IPU., ASEAN Eng. (Chief of the Electrical Engineering Program), and Menik Dwi Kurniatie, S.Si., M.Biotech. (Secretary of the Biomedical Engineering Program).
During the discussion, both parties addressed the development of the Biomedical Engineering Program, including opportunities for accelerated study and continuity of education from the UDINUS Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Program to the Biomedical Engineering Master Program at the UGM Graduate School. This collaboration has been implemented with postgraduate studies, as a number of graduates from the UDINUS Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Program continued their education in the Biomedical Engineering Master’s Program at the UGM Graduate School.
It is hoped, with this visit, that the existing collaboration can be further strengthened and formalized, thereby providing broader benefits in improving educational quality, developing human resources, and contributing to scientific advancement in the field of biomedical engineering.
