Yogyakarta (06/03), guest lecturer held by the Environmental Management Master Interest (MPL) of the Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University on this occasion discussed the implementation of Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) and Technical Approval (PERTEK). This activity was attended by 23 MPL students with the presentation of practitioners as consultants for AMDAL 8, PERTEK BMAL 34, and research related to hydrology and water quality, namely, Ir. Mega Yulisetya Widasmara, S.Si., M.Sc.

The resource person conveyed the importance of AMDAL in sustainable development planning and the challenges faced in the process of compiling it. In addition, it also outlined the latest regulations related to how AMDAL plays a role in reducing negative impacts on the environment.

Important aspects of AMDAL were conveyed in great detail. Mega Yulisetya shared her experience in handling large-scale projects with real case studies on how the AMDAL preparation process is carried out and the challenges often faced in the field.

“Alhamdulillah, the Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) course became more interesting and relevant when attended by guest lecturers from AMDAL practitioners. The presence of a practitioner provides a real perspective on how the concepts learned in class are applied in the workplace,” said Lisa Andini, one of the MPL students who attended the guest lecture.

Students get the opportunity to discuss with practitioners directly with an interactive question and answer session. The discussion covered the implementation of AMDAL in discussion projects and the role of technology in preparing AMDAL documents.

“One of the biggest added values ​​of this lecture is the opportunity to understand the procedures for preparing and the Technical Approval Process (PERTEK) as well as the dynamics of preparing AMDAL documents directly from field experience. This helps students not only understand the theory but also learn how to encounter challenges in the workplace, such as negotiating with stakeholders and solving environmental problems,” she added.
