SPs UGM Welcomes Benchmarking Visit from UIN Malang

December 13th 2024 – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) welcomed a benchmarking visit from Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Malang aimed at enhancing the quality of academic services and higher education management. The visit was led by Drs. H. Basri, M.A., Ph.D., Vice Director of UIN Malang, along with his team, and was warmly received by SPs UGM leaders.

In her opening remarks, Dean of SPs UGM, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed her appreciation for the initiative. “We are delighted to share experiences and engage in discussions with UIN Malang. Hopefully, this visit marks the beginning of a closer collaboration between our institutions,” she stated.

The UIN Malang team explored how SPs UGM develops its curriculum, which incorporates input from alumni and employers. The SPs UGM team explained that curriculum development not only addresses current needs but also ensures the global competitiveness of graduates in the job market.

During the discussion, SPs UGM shared its experiences in supporting thesis and dissertation writing with scientific writing workshops, intensive academic guidance, and access to digital literature resources.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen collaboration in the tri dharma of higher education. Drs. H. Basri, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his gratitude for SPs UGM’s openness in sharing best practices. “There are many insights we can adopt to improve academic services at UIN Malang,” he remarked.

This event is expected to mark the beginning of a strategic partnership that provides tangible benefits for both institutions in fostering quality, inclusive, and globally competitive higher education.
