IBHC or International Bioethics and Humanities Conference 2024 is an annual agenda for the Bioethics Study Program at the Gadjah Mada University Postgraduate School in collaboration with the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities (CBMH) UGM Faculty of Medicine. The 2024 year will be the 4th year of implementation of IBHC.

This activity will take place on 6th – 8th November 2024 at the Alana Hotel Yogyakarta. The event invited competent speakers from various professional backgrounds such as lecturers, researchers and activists who work in the fields of technology, environment, health and medicine.

The IBHC 2024 emphasized the importance of partnerships in achieving sustainable development. Collaboration between academics, government, and non-governmental organizations is critical in creating a holistic approach to bioethics and the humanities.

Participated students in this conference gained the opportunity to interact with diverse professionals, including educators, researchers, and activists. This multidisciplinary approach is critical to addressing the complex issues surrounding bioethics and sustainability.

“IBHC is very interesting in opening our minds as students that there are many aspects of life that require bioethics as their foundation. IBHC can awaken and inspire students in particular and society in general, that many problems in the world require bioethics as one of the dimensions in analyzing and help solve these problems, especially related to technological developments, therefore they will be more humane and beneficial for life, without causing harm,” said Rachmat Ansyori, one of the Bioethics Study Program students who took part in IBHC activities.

The 2024 UGM International Conference on Bioethics and Humanities is a significant step in encouraging sustainable multidisciplinary collaboration. Discussing issues related to education, technology and partnerships, the conference aims to contribute to global efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
