The Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University (SPs UGM) held a poster exhibition for research grants and community service (PKM) for the 2023 funding year. The event took place in the Hall on the 1st Floor of the UGM Graduate School Unit 1 from October 15th -17th, 2024. This exhibition is part of the 41st Dies Natalis series of SPs UGM, aimed at disseminating the contributions of researcher lecturers who have received SPs UGM research grants and PKM for their innovative projects.

A total of 42 research and PKM posters were displayed for the academic community at SPs UGM, with the theme “Strengthening National Independence Post-Covid-19.” This theme was chosen for the 2023 funding year grants in line with the situation to address urgent issues faced by society after the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to enhancing the capacity and skills of the community, the Research and PKM activities also emphasize the importance of education in promoting sustainability and development in society.

“SPs UGM is committed to sustainable development of Tri Dharma of Higher Education. This exhibition serves as a means of dissemination and equips the next generation with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle various societal issues,” said Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at SPs UGM.

Some of the innovative research works displayed include topics on kinship autonomy in decision-making for vaccinations, local leadership in building disaster-resilient communities, and the development of community-based tourism geosites. Meanwhile, one of the showcased PKM works focused on the utilization of rainwater to meet the needs of the community in Getas Village, which received high enthusiasm from the local populace.

This exhibition not only serves as a platform for researcher lecturers to present their findings but also aims to inspire collaboration and knowledge sharing among students, lecturers, and the wider community.
