Yogyakarta, May 27, 2024 – Universitas Gadjah Mada Graduate School (SPs UGM) proudly welcomed a benchmarking visit from a delegation of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). This visit aimed to share knowledge and experiences regarding Human Resource (HR) management, organizational structure, and curriculum structure in graduate programs.
The ITS delegation, comprising leaders, lecturers, and administrative staff, was warmly received by SPs UGM leaders and staff in the Main Hall of SPs UGM. The event was opened by Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at SPs UGM, who delivered a welcome address and introduced the profile of SPs UGM along with its various achievements. “We greatly appreciate this visit as an opportunity to learn from each other and enhance the quality of higher education in Indonesia. Hopefully, through discussions and exchanges of experiences, we can continue to innovate and contribute better to the development of human resources in Indonesia,” said Dr. Widyanto.
In the first session, the topic discussed was HR management within SPs UGM. Dr. techn. Khabib Mustofa, S.Si., M.Kom Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources at SPs UGM, presented the HR management system, including faculty management, career development, and the performance evaluation system for faculty and administrative staff.
The last topic discussed was the structure of the graduate curriculum. Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., presented the curriculum innovations that have been implemented at SPs UGM to align with industry needs and global developments. The curriculum is designed to focus not only on academic aspects but also on the development of soft skills and professional abilities.
The visit also included an interactive Q&A session, where the ITS delegation asked various questions related to HR management, organizational structure, and curriculum. The lively and enthusiastic discussions were expected to provide new insights for both institutions in developing their graduate programs.
At the end of the event, the representative from ITS, Dr. Adhi Dharma Wibawa, S.T., M.T., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health at ITS, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the warm welcome and valuable information provided by SPs UGM. “We are very grateful for this opportunity. We have learned many things that we can apply at ITS to improve the quality of our graduate education,” he said.
It is hoped that this visit will foster closer cooperation between SPs UGM and ITS in various fields, particularly in improving the quality of higher education and human resource development, supporting SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals and SDG 4 Quality Education.
