121 Graduates Attend the Faculty Graduation Ceremony of The 3rd SPs UGM Graduates Period, Academic Year 2023/2024

On Wednesday (April 23), a total of 105 master's degree graduates and 16 doctoral degree graduates, totaling 121 graduates from the Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM), participated in the graduation ceremony for the third period of the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The ceremony was held offline at Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) and was led by the Rector of UGM, Prof. Dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K), Ph.D.

Following the graduation ceremony at GSP, SPs UGM conducted a release ceremony for the graduates at the Auditorium on the 5th floor of the SPs UGM Building. Parents/guardians and families of the graduates also attended the event. The event began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," and the Gadjah Mada University Hymn, followed by speeches from student representatives.

Major General (Mayjen) Heri Wiranto, a graduate of the Doctoral Program in Leadership and Policy Innovation (KIK), was chosen as the student representative to deliver impressions and messages. "It has been a long journey to complete our studies at UGM, and we respectfully thank everyone who accompanied us on this journey," said Maj. Gen. Heri.

The statistics of SPs UGM graduates for this third period of the 2023/2024 Academic Year presented by Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation, stated that 51 graduates successfully graduated with cum laude honors. The highest GPA was achieved by Lusty Istiqomah from the Doctoral Program in Biotechnology and Ikhwan Amri from the Master's Program in Disaster Management with a GPA of 4.00. Milya Aflah Ulul Albab from the Master's Program in Environmental Science was the fastest graduate with a study period of 1 year and 5 months. From the KIK Doctoral Program, R. Dwi Tjahjo Harsono was the fastest graduate with a study period of 3 years and 4 months.

In her speech, the Dean of SPs UGM, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that SPs is multidisciplinary, therefore students are accustomed to thinking multidisciplinary from various fields of knowledge. "Indonesia's problems and global challenges are becoming more complex, so they need to be considered from various disciplines. You have been equipped to contribute to solving these problems. We hope our alumni network remains strong," said Prof. Siti Malkhamah.

There is a performance by students from the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies Program, presenting a song titled "Doa Seorang Anak" (A Child's Prayer), in order to enliven the event. The event concluded with a collective prayer led by Dr. Ahmad Zubaedi, M.Si.
