Study Interests Master of Islamic Economics Gadjah Mada University Postgraduate School (SPs UGM), held evaluation and curriculum adjustment workshops as well as the establishment of a Halal Industry Study Program. This activity will take place on 15-16 November 2024 at the Grand Keisya Hotel Yogyakarta.

This event also attended the Head of the Study Program and Study Interests in Islamic Economics and Halal Industry, quality assurance, as well as lecturers. All guests present provided input and analysis regarding the new curriculum design which will begin to be implemented in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

All aspects of assessment and learning are determining factors for the overall implementation of academic activities, including education, research and output in the form of publications, which are benchmarks for the success of student studies. The number of semester credit units (credits) for each course is a complex calculation because it is adjusted to the time and type of academic activities carried out.

Apart from curriculum development, this workshop will also focus on establishing an Interest in Halal Industry Studies and an Interest in Islamic Economics Studies, which are expected to play an important role in meeting the increasing demand for professionals in the halal sector. This initiative is in line with global trends towards ethical consumption and sustainable business practices.

The presence of quality assurance representatives at this workshop highlights the program’s dedication to maintaining high educational standards. Suggestions and input are essential to ensure that the curriculum not only meets academic requirements but also addresses the needs of industry and society at large.
