Knowledge on reproductive health for teenagers is very important. This is due to insufficient knowledge on reproductive health in adolescents will have an impact on Unintended Pregnancies (KTD) and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) including Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infections. Therefore, at the 1994 International Population Development Conference in Cairo, it has been mandated that teenagers must understand reproductive health. The main problems with Adolescent Reproductive Health (KRR) in Indonesia lacked of information regarding reproductive health and the problem of shifting adolescent sexual behavior. Thus, it is urgent to carry out outreach activities about adolescent reproductive health for students at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta.
The aim of this activity is to increase SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta students’ knowledge regarding the importance of maintaining adolescent reproductive health. The increasing knowledge on adolescent reproductive health, will increase awareness on the need to maintain reproductive health for female students at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta. In this way, female students at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta will be able to play an active role in achieving the demographic bonus.
It is believed that this PKM activity program will have sustainable value considering the importance of insight into adolescent reproductive health. Therefore the future agenda will continue similar activities at other high schools in the Yogyakarta City area. Thus, the empirical practical benefits of this PKM activity are the key to the sustainability of the proposed program.
