The Master’s Program in Extension and Development Communication at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has successfully achieved “Unggul” accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), based on the Decree of the Executive Board Director of BAN-PT No. 5589/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/M/VIII/2024 issued on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. This “Unggul” accreditation is a result of the conversion from the “A” accreditation obtained in 2020, in accordance with the guidelines and requirements set by BAN-PT.

The evaluation indicators supporting this accreditation include the quality of teaching staff and student achievement. The Vice Dean of UGM’s Graduate School, Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., expressed his appreciation for the hard work of the entire academic community who contributed to this process. “This success is a result of the hard work of the lecturers and all members of the academic community at the Graduate School, who are always responsive to changes and brave enough to innovate,” he said. He also emphasized that the accreditation process was carried out transparently, accurately, and with integrity in accordance with the established standards.

The achievement of “Unggul” accreditation is a clear testament to the commitment of the Master’s Program in Extension and Development Communication to improving the quality of education, research, and community service. In addition to strengthening the university’s reputation, this accomplishment also has a positive impact on graduates and prospective students interested in joining UGM’s Graduate School.

The Head of the Master’s Program in Extension and Development Communication, Dr. Ir. Siti Andarwati, S.Pt., MP., IPM., ASEAN Eng.,  stated that this achievement marks the beginning of a larger commitment. “This recognition through the ‘Unggul’ accreditation is not the end but rather the start of a stronger commitment to continuously develop and adapt to the changing times,” he emphasized.

With “Unggul” accreditation, the Master’s Program in Extension and Development Communication is expected to maintain and enhance its excellent educational standards, in line with UGM’s vision to become a high-quality university at both the national and international levels.
