
Yogyakarta – (18/11), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held an information session to introduce various postgraduate programs offered to prospective students. The event presented explanations of doctoral and master programs, admission schemes, and available scholarship opportunities at the UGM Graduate School.
Prof. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, in his presentation, explained that the UGM Graduate School currently offers eleven doctoral programs and fourteen master programs. He emphasized the interdisciplinary nature and international vision that serve as the main strengths of these programs. Several admission pathways were also introduced, ranging from the regular track and research-based track to the fast-track and double-degree programs. Participants were encouraged to regularly check UGM’s official website for updates on the opening of the third and fourth admission waves.
One of the special sessions discussed the Inter-Religious Studies (IRS) Doctoral Program, which is organized in collaboration with two partner universities. The speaker, Zainal Abidin Bagir, M.A., Ph.D., explained the program structure, which focuses on interdisciplinary research using religion as a social phenomenon. The program is delivered in English, with the option to write the dissertation in either English or Indonesian. He also presented various academic support systems, including academic writing guidance and the PSD Camp.
In the next session, participants received information about the Population Master Program. Dr. Raden Rara Wiwik Puji Mulyani, S.Si., M.Si. explained that the program focuses on demographic issues through an interdisciplinary approach and offers both partial and non-partial scholarship opportunities.
Zainal, during the session, highlighted that interviews for prospective students are conducted entirely online. Meanwhile, Prof. Widyanto added that postgraduate scholarships at UGM are accessible for all postgraduate levels without restrictions on the year of bachelor’s graduation.
The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to all speakers and participants, followed by several recommended next steps for prospective students: reviewing detailed scholarship requirements, contacting the fast-track program liaison, monitoring admission information, following the official channels of the UGM Graduate School, and ensuring that recommendation forms are submitted before the deadline.
