The Graduate School (SPs) of Universitas Gadjah Mada held a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) session for mandated research projects conducted by three young lecturers on August 19, 2025. This program is part of SPs’ commitment to supporting the academic and research capacity development of early-career faculty members, while ensuring that research activities proceed according to the planned targets and objectives.
During the session, the three young lecturers presented their research progress, including achievements to date, challenges encountered, and strategies to complete their projects on schedule. The discussion was highly interactive, with reviewers providing constructive feedback on methodological improvements, data strengthening, and potential publications that could emerge from the research.
As one of the reviewers, Dr. apt. Hilda Ismail, M.Sc., encouraged the young lecturers to stay motivated and consistent in their research endeavors. “I hope the research goes smoothly and that the targets can be achieved. More importantly, I hope it will result in additional quality publications that can serve as a stepping stone for future research activities,” she remarked.
This Monev activity serves not only as an evaluation forum but also as a platform for collective learning, enabling young lecturers to build confidence in strengthening their research competencies. Through the mandated research program, SPs UGM aspires to produce high-quality scholarly works that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and support the university’s performance targets.
With continuous mentoring, mandated research by young lecturers is expected to generate impactful outcomes, whether in the form of academic publications, innovations, or solutions to real-world societal challenges.
